The Wawasee Athletic Department would like to thank everyone who participated in the 26th Annual Warrior Open on July 6! There were 24 foursomes playing golf on a beautiful day at Maxwelton Golf Club in Syracuse.
This annual event has been a tremendous asset to Wawasee Athletics over the years. Money raised from the Open has helped purchase uniforms, equipment, and many other items for our Warrior athletes. The support that we have received from businesses and individuals has made the Warrior Open a tremendous success throughout its history.
Golfers playing in the scramble had the opportunity to win some awesome prizes. There were major awards available on each of the par three holes. Unfortunately, there was not a hole-in-one, but prizes that were available included a Sea Doo from Main Channel Marina, $10,000 cash from Northern Lakes Insurance, and a Buick Encore from McCormick Motors!
There were a number of other contests during the day. Congratulations to the following winners:
- Putting Contest – Andy Cripe – by sinking this long putt, Andy won a rocker from Polywood!
- Longest Drive, Men – Mitchell Evans
- Longest Drive, Ladies – Lisa Kipfer
- 2nd Shot, Closest to the Pin – Vince Beasley
- Longest Putt – Lisa Kipfer
The winning team, made up of Scott Beasley, Vince Beasley, Clint Beasley, and Brent Doty finished the day 15 stokes below par!
Each golfer was treated to lunch prior to playing and a goodie bag that included a golf towel, a Wawasee tumbler, and some snacks to get through the round. Also in the goodie bag was a can coolie donated by Tranter Graphics. Additionally, almost 40 of golfers also went home with a raffle prize!
While it was a very hot day, a lot of fun was had on the course!
